OK so here’s the deal. I secretly love Ikea. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about handmade and vintage finds and all that, but at Ikea I find smart stuff at great prices, and I love a good bargain. Plus, there is a kind of a thrifting-like quality to shopping at Ikea….you have to sift through a ton of stuff, the prices are really good and it’s kind of thrilling to come across stuff from Ikea that doesn’t look like it’s from Ikea, you know what I mean?
Last time I visited my local Ikea (besides the fact that I went in looking for a bathmat and a hamper and came out with $300 worth of green glass jars and lord knows what else) I was pretty shocked to discover that there was a ton of jungaliscious boho-ness up in there mixed in with the Scandi goodness–dare I say it? Has Ikea gone all Scandibo?? Besides a whole array of rattan pieces, cool rattan pieces, they also had some really surprising accessories like that great broom–which, by the way, is $4.00. Anyway, for those of you who are on a tight decorating budget or are getting ready to decorate, say, a new dorm room, I’ve put together my Scandibo Ikea shopping list just for you. And folks, don’t forget the plants on the way out, it’s muy importante ;)

I think they’re actually meant to live indoors, but I bet a coat or two of polyurethane would do the trick!! (and I feel you, I’m kinda lazy like that too…)
FWIW, someone in my neighborhood has the black ones outside on a covered front porch (in LA, so they’re almost never in the rain). They look great! Not sure how they’d do exposed to the full-on elements.
Scandibo is the goal I have for my condo! Loving all of these pieces.

I love Ikea and thanks for the heads up on the boho finds! My friends think it’s funny I go there to eat sometimes. Lol. But the food is good and inexpensive too.
My daughter lives in Germany, and has mixed many IKEA pieces with vintage textiles etc. last time I went to visit her she had a bunch of small cactus and when I asked where in Germany she found cactus, she said IKEA, who would have thought! :-)
