Today did not start out well. I found a louse in my hair. This, after painstakingly shampooing, combing and all-out battling my daughter’s lice (and the sheets, clothing, hats, brushes etc.) more than four times over the past couple of weeks. Feeling stressed, overwhelmed and well, gross, I called a specialist, Alicia. She spent two hours combing bugs out of my crazy thick, curly, long hair. Yeah. Not fun. Not fun at all. And certainly not the vibes I had hoped to start my day on. Once Alicia was done with meticulously getting out every darned nit and louse, I wanted to feel better, but I didn’t.
As I began to get dressed for work, I wrapped my hair up in a scarf, put on my most comfy jumpsuit, and headed for the door. But when I realized that my mood and energy was not the kind of vibe I wanted to bring with me into the rest of the day, I went back into my bedroom, burned some sage, sprayed myself with some tree-tree oils water, penciled in my brows, put on a little blush and my crystal necklaces from Rock and Raw.
According to Rock and Raw, the amethyst is a healing stone said to grant serenity and the malachite is nurturing stone, a talisman of easeful growth, transformation and expansion. Yes, that’s what I needed right now.
Armed with my head wrap and my crystals, by the time I got from my home to the office, I was beginning to emerge from my funk. Pretty jewelry may not be able to cure lice, but they sure can lift spirits!
Check out the incredible collection of crystal and ethical diamond jewelry from Rock and Raw here, and big thanks for these pieces which gave me life today!
