I really think that Mother’s day ought to come twice a year. There are so many moms in my life that deserve a whole day of adoration and gratefulness. My own mom is amazing. She’s taught me everything I know, but this year in particular she has taught me about the balance of space and intimacy, and when to involve yourself and went to step aside and let people (or events) take their course. It’s not always easy to do, especially as a mom.
My grandmother also plays an enormous role in my life. She is a true matriarch and has set a phenomenal example of how to lead a family in fairness and in love. Then I am double lucky to have TWO really wonderful mother-in-laws. I mean, most people don’t even get one! And I have two mothers-in-law that are wonderful, generous, kind and the best grandmothers to Ida. What did I do to deserve so many amazing mothers in my life??
For all of you mothers out there who are celebrating and being celebrated, wishing you a wonderful Mothers Day and all of space and intimacy that you need to thrive and take care of your children! With love, ~J

Love the new blog…and I have your book. Haven’t had a chance to look at it yet, but I had to get it!
Just FYI…it’s mothers-in-law, not mother-in-laws. The plural is on the mother. ;-)
