Bohemian Modern Living Room Inspiration: 1 2 3
Going all Bohemian Modern in your home can be as easy as adding some rugs, throw pillows and some different light fixtures. Cover existing furniture pieces with collected textiles–a Moroccan Handira, an Indian Kantha or a Turkish Kilim. Combine your more modern furniture and accessories, like your Ikea pieces or your CB2 scores with thrifted treasures and worldly tchotchkes. Hit up World Market for affordable international accessories. Make your home feel cool, clean and collected. Include plants to breath life into your space. Add one or two Eames-era pieces–a chair here, an arc lamp there–and don’t be afraid of color.
These affordable items can start you off:
Kilim Pillow $20
Kilim Pillow 2 $25
Kilim Pillow 3 $20
Rug $140
metal coffee table $40
Sofa $250
Arc lamp $110
Bookshelf $135
Blue butterfly wall hanging $63
Vintage Wooden Chair $115
Dracaena Plant: About $45 at your local garden center
Vintage Vase $42

Hello there! I was wondering if there is another store, besides IKEA, that you would recommend to find a fairly inexpensive but yet bohemian sofa?? Thanks!
Justina Blakeney says
Hi Crystal, if you want something NEW–it’s not so easy–but i’d check http://www.cb2.com/sofas/furniture/1 and I’d also look at urban outfitters. Your best best is to find something secondhand though. Good luck!

A typical Western living room may contain furnishings such as a sofa, chairs, occasional tables, and bookshelves, electric lamps, rugs, or other furniture. Traditionally, a sitting room in the United Kingdom and New Zealand has a fireplace. In a Japanese sitting room, called a washitsu, the floor is covered with tatami, sectioned mats, on which people can sit comfortably.**,”
