Last year while visiting Istanbul, we stumbled upon the Art Biennial that was right outside of the Istanbul Modern museum. What a treat. So many incredible new-to-me artists from all over the world. Three artists stood out me me for their use of textiles in their works that, in three totally different ways, spoke to me of balance, decay and unity: Geta Bratescu , Adrian Esparza and Lygia Pape.
